Support and Services for Family Caregivers

Once you complete our application, you are eligible for our services, whether you use them right away or save them for an emergency situation. Rates for most services are based on the recipient's income and are on a sliding fee scale.

Care Management

A professional care manager meets with you to assess your situation and discuss options for support and services, i.e., the type, frequency and your loved one's ability to participate in the care. Your care manager develops a comprehensive plan and works with you to put it into action. We recommend community resources, including support groups and Alzheimer's, Parkinson’s or other care classes. We also provide how-to training to help you improve your caregiving skills.

In-Home Counseling Service

Approximately 70% of caregivers suffer from symptoms of depression. In order to offset the emotional strain of caregiving, our experienced staff provides in-home counseling for caregivers who cannot come to an office.

Adult Day Centers

If your loved one would benefit from being with others during the day, or if you need help with care while you're at work, our adult day centers can give you peace of mind and a break from your caregiver role. Our care providers have years of experience, and nursing staff is on site. We're open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday Friday; specialized dementia programming is available.

Neighborhood Care Centers

Caregivers need a short break from time to time to shop, pay bills, visit with others or just be alone for a while. When you need a few hours to yourself, your loved one can spend time at one of our friendly neighborhood care centers, located in churches and community centers.

In-Home Respite

With in-home respite care, you can take a break while a trained companion visits with your loved one or is just there so that your loved one is not alone.

Crisis Care

If you have a family or medical emergency and need someone to care for your loved one while you're unable to or out of town, we can help.

Overnight Care in Assisted Living Facility

We realize that families have emergencies or can benefit from a change of scenery once in a while. We have arrangements with Assisted Living Facilities in Orange and Seminole counties for several overnight stays per year for your loved one at a facility you select from our list. This service is available if you have a medical emergency, death in the family, or just need a brief vacation.

Memory Disorder Clinic

A proper diagnosis is important if your loved one has memory problems. Call us to schedule an appointment with a neurologist at the Memory Disorder Clinic affiliated with Orlando Regional Healthcare. A social worker will help you with the paperwork, be there when the doctor explains the diagnosis and inform you of the community services available for your particular situation.

Our Mission:
Share the Care™ is a non-profit agency providing services and support to family caregivers, enabling them to maintain their family member at home and delay or eliminate the need for institutional care.

If you are a family caregiver who lives in Orange or Seminole County, Florida, we invite you to email or call us to learn how we can help you.

"I feel confident leaving John there for a couple of afternoons a week. It gives me a chance to get my errands out of the way so I can give him more of my time at home."

"I'm 82 years old and it was the best vacation I ever had. I have been married for 63 years and most of the time my hubby has been sick. This was the first time I was able to get away and enjoy life!"
