Here’s a sample of the kind words we receive from our clients on a regular basis.
These are happy tears
Recently a woman walked into one of our Adult Day Care Centers asking if she was at Share the Care. When the center director replied, “Yes, you are,” the lady collapsed onto a chair with relief. Then she proceeded to share her story. She began, “I was shopping at Wal-Mart the other day with my mother who has dementia when a woman that I’ve never even met before approached me. She said, ‘You need help! Have you ever heard of Share the Care?’ When I said ‘no,’ the lady took a Share the Care business card out of her purse and gave it to me, encouraging me to call as soon as possible. She could tell that I was really struggling with my mom and that I was under a lot of stress. So that’s how I ended up here today.”
Two days later, this relieved caregiver began bringing her mother to the Center, and her mom loves it! Finding Share the Care was a life-saver for this loving, yet worn-out caregiver and a priceless gift to her sister who lives out of state. A few days after their mother started attending the Share the Care Adult Day Care Center, the out of state sister called the Center in tears. When the director asked her why she was crying she said, “These are happy tears. I am so relieved that my mom is being well taken care of! She is so happy and my sister has gotten her life back! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you’ve done for my family!”
There’s just not enough of me to go around!
“What you all do for my mother at Share the Care I simply could not do myself. When she is home with me, I am trying to juggle cleaning, cooking, paying bills, grocery shopping and all the typical responsibilities of life while taking care of her at the same time. There’s just not enough of me to go around! It brings me great piece of mind to know that she is in a safe, caring place here at Share the Care while I take care of things I need to at home. I can’t thank you enough!”
Share the Care gives him a chance to get some of his life back.
I am delighted that I discovered Share the Care. I have worked my whole life and when he [my husband] was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, I thought my world was coming to an end. After working for another year and a half, I decided to see if Share the Care would help give him his life back and give me some freedom in my life.
I have found the program to be wonderful. They don’t just sit around watching old movies. When I come to Share the Care, they are doing prayer, sing-a-longs, games and BINGO…he does lovely, beautiful crafts and I think it really helps him to be out socially. He seems to get a glow on his face when he enters the room and recognizes faces. Share the Care gives him a chance to get some of his life back.”
